The nerve!

My visit was brief and has greatly upset me. I arrived at the Bennet home only to go for a walk with Elizabeth in the garden. My sole purpose for this trip was to warn Elizabeth to stay away from my dear nephew because she is far inferior to us.
While explaining that Mr. Darcy and my Anne have been meant for each other since birth, I asked her to promise me not to enter an engagement with my nephew.
She refused this!
Appalled, I departed the Bennet estate as soon as I reached my carriage. The nerve of that child!
I must cool down, so for now, the lady has spoken.

  1. Don't beat yourself up so much! I would rather not promise something then to break it. I did not intentionally refuse your promise to make you mad. If Mr.Darcy and Anne are actually meant for each other, than so be it, but don't assume everything ends up the way you want it to.

  2. I am shocked and furious with you, Lady Catherine! Who I want to marry is my buisness and I certainly do no want to marry your daughter. You stick your nose into everything, and I detest the prejudice you hold against Elzabeth. She is a lovely lady, and you should be luck to have her for a neice- in-law, if I chose to propose.

  3. I am upset that you would not feel happy for your dear nephew. He is in love and that should bring joy to his loved ones.I am sure your daughter can find someone else who is fit to be her partner in life. Don;t be rude to Elizabeth.

  4. You really seemed as if you were so sure that I would do as you said. I am sorry not to let you be in charge of me as you do to everyone else. but to tell you the truth i much rather not lie to you than to say that i will promise but then break it.
