To my disgrace...

It is very difficult for me to type out these words. My dear nephew has just sent me word that he proposed to Elizabeth again. She accepted the proposal this time. I am appalled at the nerve of that girl! Does she not understand her ranking to us? I most certainly will not accept this. To think, she'll be just over yonder at Pemberly soon.
Oh! my poor Anne! What will she do about a husband now? She is far too ill to go to any ball or to town to meet any men. I'm sure something will pan out.
I must rest, for I am still weak over the news.
The lady has spoken.

  1. Have you ever thought about people actually falling in love? Obviously Mr.Darcy doesn't care about my ranking campared to yours. Maybe you should be happy that he is happy, and not worry about how it will affect you. I am sorry if you are dissappointed in him; I don't want that at all.

  2. Lady Catherine, it humors me to think that the relationship between Mr.Darcy and myself is purely in my hands. YOUR nephew proposed to ME. You act as though perhaps I was the one asking for his hand in marriage! Mr.Darcy admires me as much as I admire him. Concerning my "rank", Mr.Darcy loves me for the person I am within, just as I love him for the man he is, regardless of his social ranking.

  4. Aren't you just glad to hear the news that Darcy is happy? Not only that but Elizabeth is a respectable and talented young women. Not to mention her family is very agreeable, especially Jane.

  5. My dear aunt, I can only hope you will one day consider my love before your "superior" rank. I obviously never had any feelings for Anne, so you can stop bringing her into your complaints. Elizabeth will be my wife shortly, and you will have to accept it. Otherwise, I an afraid we will not be seeing each other for a great while. You're welcome to visit us at our estate in Pemberley.

  6. Lady Catherine, why don't you quit worrying about what others are doing and who is getting married, and focus on yourself. I love Elizabeth so get over it. You are the worlds biggest drama queen!

  7. I think you should stop living vicariously through me and start living your own life lady catherine. you have accomplished little for us, and nothing for yourself. i think if you had more pride in your own work you could be something of a use to people.
