From what I understand, the militia in Meryton, near the Bennets, is departing and the two youngest daughters are begging Mr. Bennet to let them go. I believe it is in his best interest to let them go. They might end up marrying one of them which means that Collins will not get Longbourn; however, the girls will not be homeless which I suppose is a benefit.
On another note, Wickham is part of that particular militia. I remember when he tried to run off with Georgina which caused my nephew a great upset and you know how I hate to see my delicate Darcy hurt! Anyways, I heard Wickham and Lizzy had a coarse departure with each other. Lizzy didn't mention anything of the proposal. She should have- Wickham will find out eventually, and I don't believe he will take the news well from a second hand source.
Until something occurs again, the lady has spoken.
-Lady Catherine
My two sisters for some reason seem to love going to see the militia. It is in the best interest so they can find a husband. If they were to get married it would bring so much joy to my mother! Lizzy and Wickman are not on the best of terms at the moment.
ReplyDeletei agree that it is in Mr.Bennet's interest to let them go.i hope the girls find someone to marry.Lizzy should have told Wickham about the proposal. I hope the proposal does not cause to much commotion.

Lady Catherine, once again, I understand your concern for the well being of your nephew. Although, he is a grown man! He can care for himself, as for Wickham, that business really does not concern you... The issue between he and Mr.Darcy shall be forgoten; what's done is done.
ReplyDeleteYou think I should let them go? I have been thinking heavily on the subject. It is in their best interest I believe, but they do not seem to be very responsible with money. How can I trust them?
ReplyDeleteIt would be a very unwise decision to let Lydia, and young and innocent teenager, run off with the militia. I guarantee it will lead to trouble. I have experienced first hand the problems that Wickham can cause. He is a malevolent man; all he wants is money. I would rather see your estate go to Mr. Collins.
