I have just received word that Lydia is assumed to have eloped with Wickham to get married! I feel terrible for the Bennets to some degree. I mean, Wickham is not an honest man. My nephew did everything to help that man after Darcy Sr. passed away, and Wickham took it all for granted.
Elizabeth and Gardiners rushed home after Jane sent word of the horrid news. Wickham is a man of absolutely no money, so I am sure that he is just using Lydia in order to gain what little fortune the Bennets have. Mr. Bennet is currently in London searching after Lydia and Wickham.
I hope Mr. Bennet has the sense to not enrage Wickham, for the Bennet girls are not suited to live on their own without them.
I must take leave, so for now, the lady has spoken.
-Lady Catherine
Lady Catherine, your sympathy for my family in this dire situation is appreciated. We all are on pins and needles waiting to hear of any news regarding the discovery of Lydia. Although she is a silly girl at heart, I am sure she will be able to fend for herself if needed... for now at least.
ReplyDeleteI know Wickham alot better than alot of people. I can almost assure you that he will not ask Lydia for her hand in marriage. As I have learned, having family fortune doesn't stop people from falling in love. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your concern Lady Catherine. Jane of course thinks that things happen for a reason but I know Wickham and I know that Lydia may be getting hurt in this situation. Maybe it will be a learning experience for her. Hopefully she will come back married and happy, lets just hope Wickham can take care of Lydia for the time being.
ReplyDeleteLady Catherine, I hope Father finds not married, but it is not to be. I just wish that I had told the rest of my family about Wickham so non of them will be invoved with him. I feel so ashamed of my self. I hope my family will forgive me; expectualy my mother.
ReplyDelete-Elizabeth Bennet
I believe you are right on saying that Wickham is not a good guy. But I do suppose that Lydia really likes him but i really wish she would change her mind and not marry him.She can be hurt in this situation and probably not be treated as she should if she decides to really stay with Wickham.
ReplyDeleteI must say Mrs. Bennet that I completely agree with you. It looks as though our thoughts are in unison. Not only is wickham dishonest but he is as disgraceful of a man as you will ever meet. I used to know him quite well. The reason for our falling out was his attempt to marry my sister for all the wrong reasons. I too feel bad for the Bennets.
ReplyDeleteThis is shocking news and I feel bad that I did nothing to warn them. As you remember, he did sometihng equally bad to your neice. He is a bad man, and I think he just wants money. I am going to pay off his debts in Meryton.
