My dearest nephew, who is still very distraught over a certain marriage refusal, informed me of a letter he gave to Miss. Elizabeth Bennet. He said the letter contained explanation of the drama between himself and Wickham, how he did have involvement in keeping Bingley and Jane away from each other, and his apologies.
I still am having trouble comprehending why she turned him away in the first place. She has obviously made it clear that Darcy insulted her and her family because he broke apart Bingley and Jane. However, they had not been together long enough for heartbreak.
I must depart you, fellow reader, for now. Until next time, the lady has spoken.
-Lady Catherine
i must say that i was not suprised when Mr.Darcy had informed me that Elizabeth had declined his proposal. For you see Lady Catherine that ELizabeth has had pejudice agaisnt Mr.Darcy for a while. i do hope though that Elizabeth may come to her senses after reading Mr.Darcy's letter. i must say though that i am very sorry that Elizabeth has used my departure to keep her away from Darcy.
ReplyDeleteI have read the letter over a handful of times. I am quite regretful over my refusal for I did not know the truth about the things i got mad at your nephew for. I have now found out his resonging behind him tearing Bingley and Jane apart and why he has had unacceptable behavior towards Wickham. I would not have treated Darcy so bad if I had found this information out prior to his proposal. My apologies.
ReplyDeleteReading that letter made me understand the indifference between them and i am truly sorry for treating your nephew that way.But i must say that even by reading this letter it has not changed my mind about his proposal.Even though he had a reason for tearing my sister and Mr. Bingley apart i believe it was unjust and it was not in him to have done that.
ReplyDeleteI am also very confused as to why Elizabeth is so mad. I broke up Jane and Mr. Bingley, but they would not have been right for each other. Jane is not wealthy and they were not together for too long. I agree with you in saying that Elizabeth should havr said yes.
ReplyDeleteThank you my dearest aunt. I am still so confused as to her refusal. I love her but I guess she does not reciprocate the feeling. I was obviously not the one who broke up Bingley and Jane. This whole predicament is starting to wear me down.
ReplyDeleteLady Catherine, I acknowledge your concern for your newphew. He seemed very distraught indeed after our last encounter, as he should be. He has inflicted such pain and grief onto my sister and I. I am still contemplating what my true feelings for Mr.Darcy are.
ReplyDeleteDarcy should not feel confused or torn but this refusal due to his actions conflicted in Elizabeth. If should not have been a surprise at all to him. I wish the best to both Elizabeth and Darcy
